I've always disliked U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. He's a horrible little toad - preening, illogical and always eager to undermine any meaningful legal principle in order to satisfy his conservative buddies. His argument against no-knock raids - namely that the police are self-regulating through what has come to be described as the 'New Professionalism' - is bullshit. Unfortunately, Scalia's opinion seems to allow the admissibility of evidence picked up during a search after an illegal arrest. Radley Balko has the full story. 2008-01-21T09:10:08Z

Generally when I get visions, it's usually of Eric Morecambe, although sometimes I get contacted by the spirit of lesser mortals like Karol Wojtyla (aka. I am a vegetarian, an atheist, like to code in Python and noodle about with microformats and the Semantic Web. I also have a BA in philosophy from London, and am studying for an MA. My philosophical interests are in Victorian-era German philosophy, Kierkegaard, Robert Nozick, hermeneutics and current approaches to the demarcation problem in the philosophy of science. Musically, I like jazz fusion, soul and P-Funk. My musical nirvana would be a mixture of Beethoven, Miles Davis and George Clinton topped with a side-serving of Erykah, Jill and Angie.
