Ed Brayton has reports on the gay pride parade in Jerusalem. Religious fundamentalists are trying to basically terrorise gays. They ought to be dealt with like the criminals they are. Funny that. If a group of gays lobbed stones at churches and tried to blow up a police station, you can bet that they'd get a lot more punishment than a group of Godders. Remind me never to visit Israel - although it's marginally less insane than the countries around it, I'd really rather avoid the "Holy Lands" where insanity rules over and beats poor Reality with the belt buckle of deluisional craziness. 2007-06-01T22:42:29ZUntitled entry permalink

PZ Myers looks on at Laura Mallory (the irritating bint who wants to ban Harry Potter from American schools) and finds only absurdity. Don't we all?! 2007-06-01T22:33:31ZUntitled entry permalink

FIRE report on the sexual misconduct policy at Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania, which is absurdly restrictive. 2007-06-01T22:30:58ZUntitled entry permalink

Bad news - David Colquhoun, a professor at UCL, is having to move his Improbable Science page because of complaints from one of the offending quacks. This is so blatantly ridiculous - an academic should be allowed to publish a column like that which Professor Colquhoun publishes without fear of censorship. 2007-06-01T22:23:57ZUntitled entry permalink

Christian Heilmann has a great post on technology articles in dead-tree format and how they aren't that interesting. If you want an idea, here's one: put together a magazine which is just inspirational eye candy for designers and developers with URLs at the bottom of each one. Print is good for one thing - really pretty graphics. Use it! 2007-06-01T22:10:43ZUntitled entry permalink

I am a , an , like to code in and noodle about with and the . I also have a BA in philosophy from London, and am studying for an MA. My philosophical interests are in Victorian-era German philosophy, Kierkegaard, Robert Nozick, hermeneutics and current approaches to the demarcation problem in the philosophy of science. Musically, I like jazz fusion, soul and P-Funk. My musical nirvana would be a mixture of Beethoven, Miles Davis and George Clinton topped with a side-serving of Erykah, Jill and Angie.

I also write for the Citizendium, an online encyclopedia project. If you know about stuff, you should join in.
