Daylight savings time is pointless. It exists only to keep IT people busy fixing their systems. Ars Technica reports that the recent DST change in the states has done very little. 2007-04-04T12:30:45ZUntitled entry permalink

Alex Iskold thinks that we ought to use RSS to deliver structured information. This really is not a very good idea. I have posted a comment explaining why. 2007-04-04T11:40:50ZUntitled entry permalink

Twitter Tube Tracker restored! 2007-04-04T20:30:41ZTitled entry permalink

The Twitter Tube Tracker has now been restored to former glory. We may have a few teething troubles, but it should all be in fully working order.

I'll be releasing XML and JSON feeds tomorrow, including support for the Apple Dashboard widget.

As Annie Mole put it, I'm looking forward to seeing how crap the Tube really is. More than that though, I'm enjoy seeing people enjoy knowing about the problems with the Tube and be more efficient as a result. Smile and a wink

Public sector organisations like TfL really ought to be providing this data so that people like me can use it. Perhaps they ought to set up a developers network.

I am a , an , like to code in and noodle about with and the . I also have a BA in philosophy from London, and am studying for an MA. My philosophical interests are in Victorian-era German philosophy, Kierkegaard, Robert Nozick, hermeneutics and current approaches to the demarcation problem in the philosophy of science. Musically, I like jazz fusion, soul and P-Funk. My musical nirvana would be a mixture of Beethoven, Miles Davis and George Clinton topped with a side-serving of Erykah, Jill and Angie.

I also write for the Citizendium, an online encyclopedia project. If you know about stuff, you should join in.
