This Santorum photo is beyond parody. Look, Democrats, you've made a small girl cry!! Smile and a wink 2006-11-08T21:51:16ZUntitled entry permalink

I've posted my thank you photo up on Flickr. Thank you to every American who voted to chuck the current band of liars and thugs out. 2006-11-08T20:08:44ZUntitled entry permalink

It seems that since the Dems won the House and are drawing for the Senate, Madge Weinstein has recovered and returned to the air. 2006-11-08T19:44:56ZUntitled entry permalink

South Dakota has defeated the abortion ban, although Wisconsin didn't defeat the gay marriage ban. Also a couple of states (Florida, Georgia and S.C.) have strengthened anti-Kelo measures. 2006-11-08T10:33:09ZUntitled entry permalink

Hooray! The Democrats have taken the House! Let's hope that the gridlock effect in Washington will encourage saner laws and hopefully a slow down in the religious right's ambitions of theocratic takeover. 2006-11-08T10:29:54ZUntitled entry permalink

A disclaimer: I write about politics as someone who wants to become an American citizen. As soon as is possible, I will be applying for American citizenship or residence. I love the United States, and that is why I have an opinion about how it's run. 2006-11-08T10:36:54ZUntitled entry permalink

Home-brewed attention tracker 2006-11-08T15:05:19ZTitled entry permalink

I'm currently making myself a home-brewed attention database. This is going to be a series of hacks that I can apply to my own NewsRiver install which will allow me to track which blogs I click through to the most and record all that information in to a database.

It's not quite as well-featured as attention.xml, but what it will do is let me figure out what I'm reading the most, what I should pay attention to and how to make myself a better blog reader.

I'm not so bothered about getting the reports back to myself, but to at least bottle the data up now so I can do stuff with it later.

Eventually, I'm going to use this in order to pull out my top 10 sources (ch-check!) and aggregate them to places like my Google homepage and my mobile phone.

I've also got another killer idea that's just sitting inside my head. I really need about three weeks off to build all the ideas that are swimming through my head. And I also need one of the enormous whiteboards they have at Google in order to plan all my ideas. Or perhaps a blackboard - they definitely have more physics cred than whiteboards, imho. Smile and a wink

I am a , an , like to code in and noodle about with and the . I also have a BA in philosophy from London, and am studying for an MA. My philosophical interests are in Victorian-era German philosophy, Kierkegaard, Robert Nozick, hermeneutics and current approaches to the demarcation problem in the philosophy of science. Musically, I like jazz fusion, soul and P-Funk. My musical nirvana would be a mixture of Beethoven, Miles Davis and George Clinton topped with a side-serving of Erykah, Jill and Angie.

I also write for the Citizendium, an online encyclopedia project. If you know about stuff, you should join in.
