A couple of my sites are offline. Sorry about that - I've no idea why it's stopped working. I've just spent about fifteen minutes trying to track down the e-mail address of my hosting provider. Oh man, is there a web host out there that doesn't suck? 2006-10-28T22:23:17ZUntitled entry permalink

OPML Parser (PHP source code) is an XMLParser-based OPML renderer. It's a good start - I'm trying to figure out how to do a really comprehensive renderer - but it probably won't be using XMLParser - instead it'll be using a cached database combined with the DOM functions in PHP 5. I'm not sure that I want to have a database because it makes it less portable - but on the other hand, if you've got the ability to install PHP 5 scripts, then a SQL database isn't beyond the realm of possibility. 2006-10-28T20:59:54ZUntitled entry permalink

I've been listening to PodTech shows - they're pretty good. But there's one thing that's really annoying about a number of them - they play the interviewer audio from the right channel and the interviewee audio from the left channel. I'm one of those people who is very sensitive to stereo-aligned sounds and it makes them almost totally unlistenable. I wish they mixed them down to mono before publishing them. 2006-10-28T17:34:01ZUntitled entry permalink

Boston video podcaster (who I met at PodCamp back in September) Steve Garfield is using Grazr on his homepage. Smile and a wink 2006-10-28T12:11:42ZUntitled entry permalink

I've just been watching Robert Scoble's video on the Microsoft Zune MP3 player. Apple have nothing to worry about, since Microsoft haven't yet understood that podcasting needs to be built in to the client software, like it is with iTunes. 2006-10-28T12:07:23ZUntitled entry permalink

FullTorrent.net is a meta-search engine for BitTorrent. It's pretty cool, but it has too much porn for my liking, especially when you compare it to Mininova. 2006-10-28T11:40:36ZUntitled entry permalink

I am a , an , like to code in and noodle about with and the . I also have a BA in philosophy from London, and am studying for an MA. My philosophical interests are in Victorian-era German philosophy, Kierkegaard, Robert Nozick, hermeneutics and current approaches to the demarcation problem in the philosophy of science. Musically, I like jazz fusion, soul and P-Funk. My musical nirvana would be a mixture of Beethoven, Miles Davis and George Clinton topped with a side-serving of Erykah, Jill and Angie.

I also write for the Citizendium, an online encyclopedia project. If you know about stuff, you should join in.
