  No. 320

All charged up and back on the train. I've extended the render script so that it does the following: (a) sees if the file exists on the local server and renders it if it does, (b) if it isn't available on the local machine, it grabs a copy from hosting.opml.org and (c) creates all the relevant directories. This thing is really fast! 2006-09-04T22:40:50ZUntitled entry permalink

I'm in the Apple Store, using up battery juice and developing my PHP/XSL renderer. Stage One is almost done, although I need to figure out how to do XSL regex and advanced string functions. I bought O'Reilly's XSL pocket reference book, although I have a feeling that it won't contain particularly good descriptions of what I need to do. That said, I have put up another test script. Go here and fiddle with the attributes in the URL to see my blog rendered up by the new PHP/XSL renderer. I'll prettify it later. Hopefully, given a week or two (and some transatlantic flights), I'll have the app done. 2006-09-04T16:51:38ZUntitled entry permalink

I'm sorry - very little or no blogging today. I'm recovering from the huge brain trip that was BarCamp London, and I'm fiddling with the PHP for my blog renderer (not easy on my mobile connection - Interarchy doesn't seem to like scaling down to non-secure FTP over GPRS). I'm off to speak on a panel this evening about religion. Before that, I'm going to buy a book on XSL. I've also written up a comprehensive description of what I'm hoping to do with PHP and XSL. I'll post it later. 2006-09-04T13:16:25ZUntitled entry permalink
