I've figured it out! I know how I can fly to the US next month. The answer is simple. Instead of battling with all the bullshit at Heathrow and all the "no iPods, no drinks, no books" crap, I'm going to take a train to Paris Gare du Nord, then take the Métro to Charles de Gaulle, then fly Air France to the States. How much for this little Heathrow fascist-evading scheme? Only £44. I might go a few hours early and enjoy Paris - I haven't been there since I was about nine years old.
