Someone found my blog via the Egyptian version of Google while looking for "Apple iJot". Well, there's iJot - Marc Barrot's online outliner - but the idea that Apple is developing some kind of graphics tablet meets Newton 2.0 kind of thing is about as zany a rumour as, well, the right-to-left version of Google. 2006-08-12T21:25:49ZUntitled entry permalink

Lindsay has two great posts. Firstly, this one: "The plot wasn't stopped by extraordinary rendition, waterboarding, warrantless surveillance, or invading anyone's country". Secondly, there's a survey showing that 30% of Americans don't know what year 9/11 happened in. And 5% don't know what date it happened on, despite being the first event to be referred to primarily by the date it happened on. Educated populace. Just saying. 2006-08-12T19:51:19ZUntitled entry permalink

Austin Cline is reporting that the government of Jacksonville, Florida, has decladed today "A Day of Faith: Arming Our Prayer Warriors". Lovely. 2006-08-12T19:49:44ZUntitled entry permalink

Apparently, John Kerry has been held up at Paris. Heh. Doesn't do too much for his "froggy" image. Smile and a wink 2006-08-12T11:04:09ZUntitled entry permalink

I've figured it out! I know how I can fly to the US next month. The answer is simple. Instead of battling with all the bullshit at Heathrow and all the "no iPods, no drinks, no books" crap, I'm going to take a train to Paris Gare du Nord, then take the Métro to Charles de Gaulle, then fly Air France to the States. How much for this little Heathrow fascist-evading scheme? Only £44. I might go a few hours early and enjoy Paris - I haven't been there since I was about nine years old. The folks at Air France have told me that the liquids ban is in operation at Charles de Gaulle, but all the other nonsense isn't. J'aime la français! 2006-08-12T09:38:42ZUntitled entry permalink

Fox News is reporting that, in response to Mel Gibson's apology to the Jewish population, James Dobson, founder of Focus on the Family, has accepted his apology. Rest of world wonders whether Dobson is Christian or Jew. Dobson's flock not so bothered about this little question. 2006-08-12T07:28:10ZUntitled entry permalink

I am a , an , like to code in and noodle about with and the . I also have a BA in philosophy from London, and am studying for an MA. My philosophical interests are in Victorian-era German philosophy, Kierkegaard, Robert Nozick, hermeneutics and current approaches to the demarcation problem in the philosophy of science. Musically, I like jazz fusion, soul and P-Funk. My musical nirvana would be a mixture of Beethoven, Miles Davis and George Clinton topped with a side-serving of Erykah, Jill and Angie.

I also write for the Citizendium, an online encyclopedia project. If you know about stuff, you should join in.
