Yes, we're not just "title-less", we're blissfully "title-free". Modern blogging software like Wordpress has become such a horrible mess that it's nearly impossible to do an untitled post. 
As a result, people need to fret over how to post short, untitled posts. Untitled posts are not "asides". They're blog posts. It's these super-long articles that have been impersonating blog posts that are the problem.
Del.icio.us does not count as a replacement. Del.icio.us is a replacement for our long bookmark menus. You can't post short, snarky one-line posts with del.icio.us. Why is it that nobody except me, Dave and about three other people can grasp that if you post something like "Glenn Reynolds said something interesting about Iraq" (or whatever), you don't need a title. We don't need to recreate the newspaper or the magazine. We need to keep this medium running in a way so that people can write how they want to write, not how Matt Mullenweg or Ben and Mena Trott or Google or anybody else wants them to write.
You're writing a blog, not a damn textbook. Keep it short, keep it simple and keep it uncomplicated. Something which most of the major blog vendors seem totally incapable of understanding - which is quite funny, since they're in the business. Blogging needs to be simple enough so that it becomes like an ordinary bodily function - eating, drinking, walking, excreting, procreating and so on.
