Well, we all love and adore our Reading Lists, right? Well, not all of us do. Reading Lists are great, but once you've bundled a whole load of stuff in to a Reading List, you have to then download it every time you update. Quick Update cuts out the Reading List downloads, so that when I'm on the train I can simply hit "Quick Update" and it'll start grabbing headlines without the wait. If you want to try out this hack, you'll find it in the OPML Code node of my instant outline.
